AQA GCE Product Design: Textiles (2560) Advanced Subsidiary (AS 1561) Course description The course is been designed to encourage candidates to take a broad view of design and technology, to develop their capacity to design and make products and to appreciate the complex relations between design, textile materials, manufacture and marketing.

To further enrich student’s involvement in Design & Technology, we offer a number of extra-curricular activities during lunchtimes and after school.

This is sat at the end of Year 11 and tests students’ knowledge and understanding of materials and processes through a combination of short, long and drawing style questions.The influences of environmental, social and ethical issues, surrounding textile manufacturing, are also covered. There is one tier of assessment covering grades A*-G. Unit 2: Designing and making Practice - 60% of total marks.
